Severe Winter Flood in Tempe?

1/19/2022 (Permalink)

A flooded street is blocked off. We respond to storm damage emergencies 24-hours a day in Maricopa County.

In 1993, severe winter floods affected much of Arizona. The National Weather Service reported that several storms caused extensive damage from January to March. In Tempe, the Salt River flooded, and property and crops were damaged. Record flows were established on at least 17 streams, including the Salt and Verde Rivers and Oak Creek.

SERVPRO® of North Tempe and Mesa East has been restoring storm damage in Tempe for many years. When your home experiences storm damage, every minute counts, as fast action can minimize the potential for secondary damage in many cases. We follow the one-four-eight-hour rule, meaning:

One hour: we will respond to your call within one hour or less

Four hours: we will be onsite within four hours of your call

Eight hours: we will contact your insurance adjuster within eight hours of your call

In flooding situations, water can cause damage very quickly.

  • Drywall begins to swell and break down
  • Metal items begin to tarnish
  • Wood furniture begins to swell and crack
  • Dyes and inks from cloth and paper goods spread and stain
  • A musty odor appears
